Welcome to Quilt Poetry!

August brings acorns tumbiling to the ground, maturing plants, young geese learning to fly formation and other birds preparing for migration.  The harvest is brought in and the sun casts a golden hue. 

As I write it is a bit humid, though.

Bliss, created for Northcott Silk, is in shops.  Please look for it!  I've received notice that many shops will offer kits. 

You'll find a page on this site displaying Bliss sample swatches.  The panel is displayed below.

The Quilter Magazine is featuring Bliss fabric in their "Fabric Showcase" in the current (Sept.) issue.  Quilt Poetry patterns using Bliss have been beautifully displayed in the pages.  I hope you'll take an opportunity to look!

Northcott did a beautiful job with the collection.  The fabric has a wonderful "hand".  The panel includes a very fine metallic outline around the shapes.  When quilted, the line helps establish a visual illusion of appliqué - and it just looks good too! 

It was a lot of fun designing it.  I've received positive words about the fabric from shops, and I'm happy to hear the fabric is "flying out" of their doors and into sewing rooms.

There are six new Quilt Poetry patterns using Bliss, plus a design by my friend Chris Hoover of Whiligig Designs. 

Chris has allowed me to make her pattern available on this web site and I've added a "Detail Page" of her beautiful quilts.  Named Peace Park and Backyard (two patterns in one package), you must look at the "detail page" to really see them.  To really see them, you must make one of course!
